Move Over Rover.. And Let Tweety Take Over!
I pity the fool who has to clean the bird crap off these guitars everyday.
This new art installation by French artist Céleste Boursier-Mougenot consists of an assortment of plugged-in electric guitars and 40 finches going about their daily business. According to Boursier-Mougenot, "I am not using the birds, I am collaborating with them."
Right...
But if you ask me, this exhibit would probably do better -- and sound more musical -- if the guitars were tuned to a specific open tuning. Maybe a finch friendly DADGAD tuning or DGDGBD and their Nashville-tuning equivalents.
The exhibit is on display at The Curve, part of the Barbican Center in London, from 27 February til 23 May.
I can almost hear yells of 'Freebird' from the gallery.
